Average? The average thoughts of a typical college kid just trying to make it though in one piece.

Live

Well yesterday was interesting to say the least. I'm not so sure I like doing sound for people at Houghton. HaHa (sorry Derek I know it wasn't your fault.)

Quote of the night: "All we need is 2 57's and 2 58's." -Nate

Well that didn't turn out to be true to say the least. Try full set up with some weird set changes and people that didn't know what they needed/wanted. Okay can someone tell me if you are a guitarist why you wouldn't know the difference between a balanced cable and an unbalanced cable. Then blame the sound people...right thats fair. I think my favorite part of the night was when in the middle of a set change they killed all the lights..and I am supposed to see a soundboard with no LED's how? So pretty much the night turned into me and Walker running around trying to pull off a variety type show when it was supposed to be just a band. It was pretty funny when I smashed my hand under the amp rack too. But I have to admit while it was pretty high stress we didn't flip out on anyone to bad. and Bonus. Ashley, Walker and myself might be in the Star. Funny thats what you get for having a shirt that says www.xxxchurch.com "the number one christian porn site."

So thats enough rambling about sound because I gather none of you care. I do tho so deal.

Tomorrow I meet my fate with my first Dr. Case test. If its anything like Dr. Paiges.....awe man.

Yup. Yesterday did what I wanted hung out with some friends and then played racquetball. I have to admit I am pretty sore today, something about exercising for 2.5 hrs did me in. Yesterday Walker 5 Me 2...Overall Record Walker 9 Me 2.....at least I pulled out two wins yesterday. At least he didn't hit me in the head. Hope your okay Ashley (get him back) Aww man hung out with Bree and compared pics from Australia its so weird that she has pics from Gram and Sues and Koolume (I know i butchered that spelling). So yea good times.

Everyone should come to the coffee house tonight at 7:00 in the CC to support Dr. Beach and the students against the administration deciding to let him go 2 weeks before his tenure. not cool. Leroy Towns and The Lone Stars are playing and some others. Leroy Towns is pretty good and I'm not just saying that cause my boss is the E-Guitarist. Hope to see you there!!! Stop by the board and say hi to me and walker.

I'm a brand new man, I'm a conscious man
I'm a man who's burnin' for you
The mistakes I've made have been chased away to the bottom of the ocean blue
I'm a brand new man in a foreign land, I'm a man who's feelin' that fire
And it's all so clear when I'm standing here at the peak of my desire

So won't you move me like you used to
I want the world to know I burn for you

I feel revived again, I am alive again
(Burnin' for you) You got me lifted and lifted you lift me up
I feel revived again, I'm energized again
(Burnin' for you) You got me lifted and lifted you lift me up

Woke up in a sweat, those ghosts in my head
Had a grip, but I slipped on by
It's a whole new day as the darkness fades
And the sun's climbing in the sky

I concede, my love, that I need your love
I'm before you, a broken man
And it's only you, no substitutes who can renew this soul again

You got me higher than Kilimanjaro
Got me believin' I can "save the day"
I'm up and running like their ain't no tomorrow
I'd rather burn for you than fade away
I'd rather burn for you than go my way

I'm a whole new guy with a whole new vibe
Changed inside - more flame in the fire
Can't stop, won't stop praying for desire
Like the bunny on the screen feel so energized
Old shell gone without a trace, new face
No more shortness of breath, new pace
Live life now without the taste of fear
TOBYMAC, Double Dutch now let the smoke clea

Thats what I wish I was saying...I'm the broken women searching for revival.

delicious cherries

ahh...speech is finally over. Thankfully. I think I am perfectly content with making powerpoint and logos for other people. I'm too picky with myself.

Really looking forward to a chill night. Playing some racquetball then hanging out. Finally!

Started two new books yesterday.

Captivating: I'm not going to blog about it. Honestly its really interesting and is hitting hard in places I don't like to talk about. If you want to ask me about I'd be happy to talk about it but I'm not ready to put that all on cyberspace.

I also started A place for Skeptics by Larson and Mitchell. It appears that its going to be really good yet at the same time a bit childish. So what have a learned from it. I'm a skeptic not a cynic. I still think there is hope in believing. I also was reminded about the lenses we interpret life with. Thats something I had to work on a lot last year thanks to a certain middle school pastor (cough Dan) because I really tend to read things into conversations. I think at one point I actually read into him not playing bubble hockey with me as he didn't accept me and I actually think I cried over it. (ya know how people say the don't regret stuff...i regret that) Still a work in progress tho. So it just called me to look at the current filters that are influencing my life and how I view things.

Good stuff. Basic but good.

Great Weekend

Wow-yeah this weekend was awesome. For once home was really really great. Friday night was definitely they highlight. When I said things would maybe get better with the weekend I didn't know what was going to happen. Well they did. A lot of things got taken care of in a 15 conversation. SWEET.

Sat. went to the apple store which confirmed my suspicion that my iPod hard drive went. Yup $325 down the tube.

Sunday.-I just had so much stinken fun working with John. I made a couple of Ad-libs to the games and it worked out really really well. So much fun. I miss being able to do that. I love knowing people so well you can just feel whether something would be good or not. When things you do just fit seamlessly into something it is a beautiful thing.

Koin-yeah that went well. found out i have a backbone when it comes to overbearing piano players...haha...don't play during Crowder. Its just not right.

I also finished off Donald Millers book "Searching for God knows What". I really disliked the last chapter. It was comparing God to Shakespeare and I'm not into that. If your into that kinda stuff it might mean more to you.

Starting Captivating for the floor bible study and a place for skeptics.
