Average? The average thoughts of a typical college kid just trying to make it though in one piece.

Who is your hero?

Watch the video
Watch the video above.

Who is your hero? Have you thought about it much. I just sat down to post this and tired to think of a few of my heros. I didn't come up with a very good list. I used to think my hero was Dominik Hasek. I guess my heros revolve around people that have taught me lessons in life and had the courage to be themselves and thus encouraged me to be who I'm meant to be.

Okay: I came up with a lot of people. One person that was really influential in my life was Curt Cain. He taught me that it was okay to be a tech person and demonstrated how to do ministry in his life. I am really appreciative of the long conversations we had about ministry and life. He has since left our church but I'll never forget how much he taught me.

that can't be good

Okay so after my Western Civ. Final was over life was better. The End

So it was pretty chill after and I just needed to relax so I thought Bree could crack my back because I got all tensed up before the exam. Well she did but kinda unexpectedly...yeah it wasn't really funny. Oh yeah and I almost killed myself playing pick-up on the quad. Grass is slippery when it is freshly mowed.

So yeah tonight was the midnight breakfast which was super fun for me because all of my friends for the most part sat together although I don't think the non-frisbee ones were not ready for the frisbee ones. Wish my roommate was there tho. Fun none the less. Especially when Batman (greg bish) couldn't find a sound person and had to ask me (didn't get freshman internship) to plug in a mic so he could make an announcement. Yup funny.

Okay so the whole point of this particular blog is about Walker. So for some reason relating to food we were talking about fatness (I don't even know why I am giving context) on the way down to there house. I was saying how according to my doctor I'm overweight and walker goes "I've seen you in spandex...(Pause)...(more awkward silence and Ashley and me laughing)....and I wouldn't consider you fat. Me: yeah you ended that sentence well...I didn't know how you could make that not awkward. Walker: I'm going to end up on your blog again aren't I. Me: oh that was too good.

later that night

The stress may be getting to me...poor smiley face.

I shutter to think

One of my good friends once said..."I shutter to think what we would do with alcohol" I'm starting to think he was right!

Sometimes I just wonder about us. Today was the frisbee team's final get together/party. So what do frisbee players do...have fun!! But anyway we played this game called Cower. Basically there is a bunch of rules but if you screw up you and your team must lay on the ground and the other team gets to throw a disc as high in the air as they can and try to hit you. Oh the fun. We played for like an hour and we weren't drunk. Who would have thought imminent danger could be that fun!

Before the rant..I didn't blog yesterday but someone in a store that I was with happened to miss speak when she tried to say reases' with peanuts....it turned into penis. Ya know I used to think I was just immature but that was funny.

So today..I'm trying to study. Power tools are going like crazy because they started working on the third floor of the library. People on the quad were screaming and my room was stifling hot....but I couldn't go to the Library because thats where all the noise was concentrated. Go figure. I almost drove to a park!

Anyhow exams start tomorrow...If I don't fail I will be done with Western Civ Forever!!!

The weekend!

We are a special group of people! Its sad it'll all be over in 7 weekdays but yet I'm excited to be done.

Wow so this weekend was pretty amazing. We had an Aussie retreat Fri-Sat. which was amazing purely because I haven't got a real chance to hang out with the team because I've been at college. I love how our youth ministry plans things because its just super chill. It was a good weekend just to do some team building, play disc, play euchre and watch hockey!

Sat. night I went to service because the youth guys were doing it. Amazing thats about all I can say. I felt like I was at a concert. 107 in church? Thats amazing. You know a mix is good when you can push it that loud in our church.

Sunday was pretty cool..just a bunch of great conversations. I was duly reminded that appearances aren't always what they seem and to remember to trust the administration (Houghton). My internship definitely taught me that about my church. I was also challenged to not get a big head about all this video stuff....just remember I have nothing to do with it...its all God without him I would be nothing. I love the people I have in my life that I trust enough to tell me these things. One really profound thing that was said was "I would take 1 person that is willing to learn over10 people that are competent, you can teach competency but you can't teach attitude." He should write a book although I think that was out of a book.

Best part of the weekend by far was the hockey game. I ended up getting tickets!!! 14 rows up! It was amazing. The people I went with were so fun...I miss watching hockey in Buffalo with guys!!!!. 3-0 baby just one more win!
