Average? The average thoughts of a typical college kid just trying to make it though in one piece.

Did I Mullen President Mullen?

Watch the video
The past two weeks I have been involved with this comedy show at my college called SPOT. Students put together various things such as skits and videos for the rest of the student bodies enjoyment. While we were planning all of this I was editing a video for Advancement of my colleges president. With some coaxing from the hosts and some friends I decided to make a video to introduce her live interview at SPOT. This is the chaos that ensued. The fist cut was a debacle. This is the final video. A big huge thanks goes out to Dave Huth for the final edit. He says "video is a long collaborative process, you put a lot of time into it to" I say he deserves all the credit. Enjoy.

Studio/SPOT

Well the weekend began on Friday. I went to Avon to help my friend Kevin and his friend Jesse work on there new studio. So much stinken fun. It’s so awesome not only because I got to spend a day with Jesse Spinkle but just spending the day hanging out with cool people. (On a side note: Jesse is one of the most down to earth people I have ever met and that is saying a lot because he is a freaken amazing drummer (dead poetic and others) and he was just totally chill.) This is a shot of the studio space coming together. I was standing in what will be the live room.

studio 1

It was a really old building with lots of dust! I just had to get a picture of Kevin and me after we demolished a hanging shelf type thing. We were a lil’ dirty. So much fun.

Me and Kevin at Jesses

So just to prove that I spent the day with Jessse Sprinkle I made him pose for a picture. Haha. There was a better one but the flash picked up all the dust in the studio. Its all good tho.

The rest of the weekend was spent setting up and running tech for SPOT. It’s a comedy/variety show at my college. We pull out all the stops tech wise for it setting up a full lighting truss and various other fixtures. Long nights, hard work but it was all worth it after a great show. Kinda sad its over, kinda relieved tho. I think my time card said 20 hrs for the weekend. I am pretty positive I put in a 40hr work week this week on top of school. I decided that if I ever had to hand pic a crew to put on a show I would pic Derek, Walker, myself, and Kevin (J)…not that Nate didn’t do a great job this SPOT but I know Kevin better.

Derek, me and Walker messing around hanging on the truss while we were setting up for SPOT. You can’t work all the time.

A pic of the final set-up. You can’t see all the lights and cameras tho.

tech geeks

A pic right before the last few pieces of the system were brought out of the chapel. 4am. I swear they are tired eyes and not drunk eyes. Probably the most unflattering picture of the 3 of us.

Well overall this weekend was amazing people. I get to hang out with cool people and work with the best. So thankful.

Finally, I think I met every security guard on campus this weekend. They either were trying to kick us out of the building. It closes at 2am don’t you know. Or refusing to open the building because its not on the schedule even tho we have been doing soundcheck for Koin for the past 2years at 3:00!

Awesome. Class tomorrow. Ugh.
