Never Driving w/ Jacob Again!

wow-so this weekend has been sooooo.... crazy!

This morning I woke up to go do video for a wedding. Go to my car and drive about 15 miles down the road and it starts to make noises...it gets louder. So..by the time I get to Jacobs house (a video guy i was picking up) I look under my front end to find oil looking stuff spraying all over. Not good. Have to be at a wedding in 30 mins. Freaking out....I can not tell you what was going through my head. Jacobs parents arn't home mine are supposed to be leaving on a trip and I'm going to be late. Thank the Lord for friends! Like I said in previous posts I love all of my friends and value them a ton. So I gave my YP a call and frantically asked if I could borrow his car. (He was 2 min away) he said yes and picked us up. I seriously would have been sank w/o his help!

Got yelled at by a Russian. (no lie)

Get to the wedding everything is cool. Beautiful wedding. Seriously. Then we went to the reception which was really nice but a little awkward. Ever been somewhere that you knew everyone but felt you shouldn't be there. Yup--try socializing w/ all the head honchos of our church! So long time after good day. Truck fixed...lots of money later. But then went to the fischers for dinner/party which is always fantastic.

Okay-I dunno who commented me (Walker?) but I put the wrong type of disc on my blog. Thought Process went something like this: its 12:00, I'm tired, google image search, frisbee, that one looks clear. Sweet. My bad. I won't make the mistake again. and let me just mention someone has that same disc in the back seat of his car. ;)

So recently I have been just trying to keep my head afloat between video editing and school work and tech work. But...I have taken up a sport on a new level.

As many of you don't know Houghton College has an Ultimate Frisbee team that goes to tourny's etc. My friend Walker played on it last semester and told me about it but I couldn't do it because of field hockey. I love disc-always have since Gortz spent oh a good 6 months trying to teach me a flick!! Oh the memories. Fall Retreat. Leadership Summit. Tennesse. Michindo. The Hub. Anytime Paul cancelled youth group to play. Rich's under the lights. Well I'm not playing field hockey anymore because of my possible transfer to Asbury. So....I joined the team. We have only had 2 practices/pick-up so far but it has been really fun and challenging learning new rules and meeting new people.

One thing really sticks in my mind about one of the first days of field hockey practice someone said (while I was admiring the Frisbee team) "You don't want to play with them they are weird". On the contrary so far they have been some of the nicest people I have met on campus and encouraging and willing to teach new people how to play a great sport as well as make them feel welcome. So yeah thats my recent up-taking and rant.

I am definitely blessed with the best friends. They are absolutely amazing from the good ol' dying puppies to the complaining about the Cafe food and late night talks during exam weeks. I am so glad that I have amazing friends across the board.


Tonight is the first night of ultimate frisbee practice. I'm a bit nervous not going to lie. Should be fun even tho Ashley not going cut the people I know in half, so pretty much I only know Walker. Fantastic. We'll see how it goes.

Break

ahhh as I come to the end of my break I feel completely satisfied. (I could have done more school work....or at least did some). Pictures will follow but here of some highlights in no real order, well I guess they are kinda in chronological order.

Hawk Nelson show and meeting Manic Drive and Hawk. Also meeting the new sound guy for our church in an unusual way.

Hanging out with the beautiful Becky Beers at Timmy Ho's till later than we both thought it was.

Lunch with the guys---always fun. What is goose fat anyway and who eats it?

Snowboarding with 4 Beers. AKA Kevin Becky his mom and his sister. The definitive highlight for that night was me doing the typical and trying to show off and catching an edge and totally wrecking. Awesome. Not a highlight--loosing my Houghton keys. Awe still don't know what I'm going to do.

Frisbee---woot? Going to play for the school team in other news.

Great day playing foose chilling out and actually getting some work done.

GIRLS NIGHT OUT--yeah spontaneous road trip to Rochester and hanging out with the girls. I love those girls I haven't laughed that hard in a long long time. I love that we have jokes that run back 2 or 3 years....dying puppies?...By far the best part of break.
