Average? The average thoughts of a typical college kid just trying to make it though in one piece.

New Mexico

ahh well on my way home from New Mexico currently sitting in an airport waiting for my flight out of New Mexico.

I have to say all and all its been a pretty great experience. Funny that I won't drive into Buffalo by myself and I managed to make it all the way here pretty okay. Definitely an interesting experience. I got a tour of the Los Alamos National Lab by the group leader of this huge project. That was pretty sweet. I would have to say hanging out with physicists is like hanging out with video people except you don't speak the same language. Here I would like to formally apologize for lunches etc. where I have talked with one or more sound/video people with non-video people present. It really is a miserable experience to sit and listen too.

I guess nothing super interesting happened other than my tapes were confiscated by the U.S. government for review before they can be used for Houghton. They have to be reviewed before they can be let off the site of the lab by 3-4 people. Funny.

So pretty much I am leaving New Mexico with no in hand footage and praying it gets returned and that I didn't arbitrarily point the camera towards something classified.

I'm Peacing. ha

Kinda crazy. I leave for New Mexico tomorrow morning. I can't even drive into Buffalo by myself. I'm super excited for the opportunity to go down there and video tape its definitely going to be interesting. When you say "Ok. worst case senerio I don't get clearance can't tape in the lab and the students are do busy to interview" and your prof. says 'oh it can get way worse than that' you just don't know what to say. Its going to be good tho I know it. Aww man.

Went up to Houghton today pretty sweet met with Dave about New Mexico and Dr. Case to give him some stuff people gave me for him in Australia. I would definitely say that people make Houghton. When professors take time out of there day to inform you about what your going to be doing so your not in the dark or just to hang out and talk thats awesome. Incredible.

wow can't believe I am doing this. To New Mexico I go.

This Day

well well. Today was good while being extremely sad at the same time. Today I said goodbye to Dan our middle school pastor. No matter how many times you have to say goodbye to different people it doesn't get any easier. The sad thing is how often it happens in ministry. Thats life tho.

So a bunch of us went to mamosrsores (spelling?) a wing place that has the best wings in Buffalo if you want medium Q. Kinda was like wow this is my last lunch probably forever with Dan thats crazy. Some good conversation as well as last minute advice followed.

All and all it was a pretty surreal day. But I would have to say that I did win the last game of foosball that we will play at least for a long time.

It's difficult to say goodbye after all this time
The rain will fall down, replenishing all of our broken dreams
And this burning tree that's withering will bloom again,
would you believe?
Goodbye, Goodbye.
Walk away. It's time to say goodbye.
Goodbye, Goodbye.
Walk away. It's hard to say goodbye.
Now all that's left are pictures on the wall.
Memories and stories that are told.
The more often told the bigger they get.
Create a legacy, lest we forget.
Goodbye, Goodbye.
Walk away. It's time to say goodbye.
No longer can I hold on to this defeated change in heart (I swear).
It's time to sing "fare thee well" to life as we know it.
My voice it will, you know I will be, yes it will be still.
SOMETHING WOKE ME UP IN THE MIDST OF DREAM AND FANTASY
HALF WAY THERE.
BUT HE ALWAYS FILLS MY CUP.
AND HE LIFTS ME UP (oh how he lifts me up).

Goodbye, Goodbye.
Walk away. It's time to say goodbye.
I never took the time to stop and realize that death takes
many forms.
Even while alive.
~Plankeye goodbye....AKA this song I think of everytime someone leaves. Is that sad or what?

today

hmmm... I concur. ...you know who you are.

Well. I know I have yet to blog about Australia and that is really lame however I have dial up and can't upload my pictures untill next week. Anywhoo I thought today was pretty note worthy so I decided I would blog about it. A few really cool things happened

1) I got to hang with Kate at Timy Ho's which is always fun because it is.

2) I video taped with Ben our Russian worship leader. I have spent a lot of time with him recently and discovered he is actually pretty cool. We taped childrens ministry but cool none the less because I got to show him some tricks and he was super appreciative about it.

3) I got to work on the Midas Legend. Okay so no one else would care about that but anytime I get to work even just a little on it its awesome. Even tho it was just 2 vox a pastor and the tap delay it still was awesome. I am a dork. It was great to pick some audio tricks up today tho. "You never make it in sound your always learning and picking up little tricks. I don't think you actually ever 'Arrive'"-KJ

4) I felt like my heart was ripped out of my chest I got hurt so bad by someone. Okay thats exaggerating but point made. Story for another time. Nothing could wreck my day today tho.

5) Finalized stuff about New Mexico which means my school is flying me to New Mexico to video tape! Awesome!. Seriously a dream come true. I never thought I would have and opportunity to do this kinda stuff. Thank you Mayterm with Dave Huth.

Thats it.
